Do you own a PSP? (PlayStation Portable.) Have you purchased lots and lots of games for your machine over the years? Do you want to now buy the latest portable machine from Sony which is the PS Vita? Well surprise, surprise, Sony PlayStation has not included a UMD reader on their newest gaming machine which is then unable to read these games.
There have been reports from Japan suggesting that people will have to buy the Universal Media discs from PlayStation Network (UMD – these are a disk medium developed by Sony to use on their PlayStation portable gaming machines) that people had already purchased for their previous machine?

This sounds ridiculous! Then, to make it even more complicated it has been said you would need to download the UMD passport app on your PSP2 and register it with your PlayStation Portable on your PlayStation Network account. You would then need to log onto your PlayStation Network through your PSVita to qualify for a reduced discounted price for the game you already own for your other machine.
Jesus! Are they mad? Who would want to pay again for a game that they already own – and why so difficult? To top it all it turns out that not all games will be available!
Sony just seems to have lost the ability to treat its customers with care and respect. People want to see good customer relations from the mega supplier of gaming machines. This is a great company and it just needs to look after its loyal customers a little better.
The PSVita is due to be released in Japan on 17th December and will be released in America, UK and Europe on 22nd February 2012. The price will be $299 in America and £279.99 in the UK for the 3G version and £229.99 for the WI-FI version.
People are looking forward to the release of the new portable gaming machine and it looks like an excellent price for the high spec machine. It was a great shock to hear that the release date was postponed until the new dates as specified above, as it was originally planned to go out on sale in December, and it has hit the company hard to be missing out on vital Christmas sales.
